Flying high - Phoenix Raffle Results
So here we are, our goal is reached. Phoenix flew through her MOT today – no advisories, no fails, a clean sheet.
Testament to each and everyone who have put in so much work over the past months to bring this excellent fundraiser through; from a simple suggestion on this very forum, to the lovely vehicle she is today.

Thanks to everyone who bought tickets from the Sanctuary – each and every one going to support a very worthwhile cause. 185 tickets in total were sold
(£1850), and a further £450 was raised in the name of Phoenix with various sales and fundraising along the way.
Thanks also to everyone (individuals AND companies) who donated time and parts for the work entailed. Not only for the rebuild weekends, but for the many hours spent in preparation beforehand, and since those two weekends – which showed the true landy spirit of so many folk working as one.
Thanks to Neil for a superb write-up in LRO – I’ve had a load of feedback about it, all very favourable I might add , also thanks to everyone else at LRO for their support.
And so to the result of the draw…..have you all got your tickets ready…?
The winning ticket number was 027

So "Well Done" to Oscar. As soon as we can mutually arrange the photoshoot and handing over (hopefully this week), we'll put that final picture up here. Meanwhile, here she is as of today, riding high like the lady she is.

In the Begining...
Members of the Land Rover Owner International Website Forums (www.lro.com) have joined forces with Three Owls to raise some much-needed funds for our charity.
A 1960's Land Rover has been donated to the cause, aptly named "Phoenix", and over 30 enthusiasts attended two Rebuild Weekends, which saw the Land Rover completely stripped down, and rebuilt using parts donated from companies and enthusiasts alike.
The Land Rover is now up and running, and the raffle commences! During the course of the raffle, the vehicle will be fully repainted Land Rover Bronze Green, and, at close of raffle, will be given a full 12 months MOT ready for it's new owner.
Tickets are on sale now at the Sanctuary for a mere £10 each. Imagine; the chance to win a tax-exempt land rover with 12 months MOT for just £10 !!! There is no limit to how many or few tickets you can buy. Only 5000 have been printed and when they're gone, they're gone! If we can sell them all, a fantastic £50,000 could be raised to help Three Owls. (almost 6 months running costs!) Click on the pictures to enlarge!

Following a respray by a bodyshop in Whitehaven, Cumbria, Phoenix now looks like this.
We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the members of the LRO Forums who have helped in this very worthwhile project, not only by giving up their time, but also parts, tools, and a great deal of knowledge! We would also like to further thank Steve Parker Land Rovers Ltd (01706 854222) and Rufus Car Ltd (01200 445254) for their generous donations of parts, tools and accessories, Beechcliffe Stores at Keighley.
Also a big thank you to United Springs at Rochdale, for the generous use of their works yard for the first rebuild weekend, and Dennis Milne for use of his facilities at the 2nd weekend.
Check out more on the re-incarnation of "Phoenix" in the April 2005 edition of Land Rover Owner International (01733 468231)
Special thanks to "Haggis" and "Suzim" for organising three further fundraising activities (raising over £500 to date for Three Owls)
